support our work
Search and rescue in British Columbia is provided at no cost to the people who need help. We believe that concerns about cost should never delay a call for assistance, as hesitation can put lives at risk.
While our services are always free, search and rescue is not free to operate. Equipment, training, vehicles, and facilities are essential to keeping our volunteer team operational, safe, and ready to respond.
Comox Valley Search & Rescue is a registered Canadian charity, and donations made through CanadaHelps are eligible for an official tax receipt. Your support plays a critical role in our ability to respond effectively when people need help most.
We also accept donations by Interac e-transfer to info@cvgsar.com.
Tax receipts can be issued for donations of $20 or more. E-transfers are preferred, as they allow more of your donation to go directly toward supporting our search and rescue operations by avoiding third-party processing fees.
Donating a vehicle is another meaningful way to support our work. Through our vehicle donation program, cars, trucks, and other vehicles can be turned into direct support for training, equipment, and readiness, while also offering an easy alternative to traditional cash donations. It’s a practical way to make a lasting impact using something you may no longer need.
DONATE YOUR CAR
roofs for rescuers
After more than six years of fundraising, planning, and community support, Comox Valley Search & Rescue now has a permanent home of our own.
Through the Roofs For Rescuers campaign, individuals, businesses, and community partners came together to help our volunteer team secure a dedicated operations hall. This space gives us a stable base for training, equipment storage, meetings, and emergency response coordination — all essential to keeping our team ready when the community needs us.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this possible. Your support has created a lasting foundation for search and rescue in the Comox Valley.
While we now have a permanent building, the work isn’t finished. Ongoing renovations, upgrades, and equipment needs remain as we adapt the space to fully support training, rescue operations, and long-term sustainability.
Continued community support will help us complete these improvements and ensure our team has a safe, functional, and reliable base for years to come.
Every donation helps strengthen the future of search and rescue in our region.
Your contribution directly supports the training, equipment, vehicles, and facilities that keep Comox Valley Search & Rescue ready to respond safely and effectively.
